Old Trafford— Alexis Sanchez, 29, is Manchester United’s new number seven. On Monday Jan. 22, the Red Devils finalized the four-and-a-half deal worth £14 million. Sanchez, the Chilean forward and former Arsenal player, was announced on ManUtd’s twitter account in a video playing ‘Glory Glory Man United’ on the piano.
“I am very proud to be the first Chilean player ever to play for United’s first team, and I hope I can show our fans all around the world why the club wanted to bring me here.” said Sanchez.
Inversely, Henrikh Mkhitaryan joins Arsenal. In 15 Premiere League matches, Mkhitaryan had only scored once and made five assists with his last appearance on Jan. 5, the BBC reports.
“It’s a dream come true because I’ve always dreamed of playing for Arsenal. Now I’m here, I’ll do my best for this club to create history.” said Mkhitaryan.

“Alexis is one of the best attacking players in the world and he will complete our very young and talented group of attacking players. He will bring his ambition, drive and personality, qualities that make a Manchester United player and a player that makes the team stronger and the supporters proud of their club dimension and prestige.” said Jose Mourinho, after the deal’s completion.
“Having a player of that quality added to our squad, with the great ability we’ve already got up front, this will be an absolutely fantastic deal for us to get such a quality player.” said Dwight Yorke, former Manchester United striker and legend.
Now that a promising player has joined Man Utd, fans can rejoice at the anticipation of a more successful team. The ‘Pride of England’, as the team was dubbed in its glory days, may no longer be a thing of the past. However, fans will also see shortly if Sanchez can play effectively with the Red Devil squad later on in January when the Chilean Devil debuts.
